La Pollancreda Park

La Pollancreda Park

This spacious park features poplars, a stream with bridges, a large play area, and facilities for cycling, ball games, petanque, and skating.

The large poplar tree, which serves as a gateway to the municipality’s woodland landscape, is the feature that has traditionally given the area its identity and name. It is a fairly large park, crossed by the Sant Cugat stream in Cerdanyola (two bridges connect the two parts of the park). It has a large playground and it is not uncommon to see children’s parties taking place there on fine days. There is a cycle path, and visitors can play ball games, petanque and go skateboarding. The rows of poplars are reminiscent of a dehesa and have defined the park’s appearance for decades. However, these poplars are gradually being replaced by a greater diversity of species, better suited to current and future climatic conditions. The setting has made this an ideal spot for many families to go for a walk, cycle, play and enjoy being in nature. Furthermore, the park forms part of the green corridor which, from the city centre, winds its way up to Collserola, following the Rambla del Celler, creating a continuous stretch of green and leisure spaces. It regularly hosts festivals, family gatherings, sporting events and local festival celebrations, making it a versatile, vibrant space designed for all ages – ideal for enjoying leisure time in a stunning natural setting. Activities and games For children (aged 4–8) For older children (aged 9+) For adults: sports courts, skate park, fitness equipment.
