Central Park
It is a large green space crossed by a small stream, ideal for enjoying sport and family games. The path running alongside the stream is suitable for pedestrians and cyclists; it is well-lit and lined with trees, and runs the length of the park from top to bottom. There are basketball courts, a large grassy area for various sports and activities, and a children’s play area. The park is laid out in terraces around the former Bomba stream, evoking the area’s traditional terraced farming. The terraces are home to Mediterranean vegetation: pine groves, holm oak groves, plane tree groves and native shrubbery. These are combined with meadows and rows of plane trees, which highlight the seasonal character of the space. The presence of several groves of plane trees makes it a true oasis of coolness for strolling, playing, resting and contemplating – a space that allows visitors to disconnect from urban life. Along the course of the stream and the central path, there is vegetation that lends a refreshing touch to the atmosphere: poplars, black poplars and wild cherry trees. Furthermore, small bridges and footpaths enhance the park experience. Points of interest: A small channelled stream: it runs through the park lengthways, with a large paved pond at its lower end. Activities and games: For very young children (0–3 years) For children (4–8 years) For older children (9+ years) For adults: sports courts.
