Volpelleres Forest

Volpelleres Forest

A natural area in Sant Cugat featuring Mediterranean flora and walking trails, ideal for recreational and sporting activities for all ages.

The Volpelleres Wood is one of Sant Cugat’s great natural treasures. It is a wooded area that runs alongside the stream of the same name, and continues to serve as an ecological corridor between the Sierra de Galliners and the Sant Cugat stream. Although it is surrounded by infrastructure such as the AP-7 motorway and the RENFE and FGC railway lines, the forest has retained its essence and its role as a natural corridor. The area combines areas of mature woodland with a pleasant 1.5 km walk that feels more like a mountain trail than an urban park. Points of interest The vegetation combines riverside woodland with Mediterranean species such as white pines, oaks, holm oaks and buckthorns. This flora contributes to biodiversity and fulfils essential environmental functions: it improves air quality, protects the soil and promotes people’s well-being. Activities and games For young children (0–3 years) For children (4–8 years) For older children (9+ years) For adults: A circular route with fitness equipment and rest areas along the way.
