Route from FGC Volpelleres to the Monastery
A linear route between the 'Volpelleres' FGC station and the Sant Cugat Monastery, combining urban sections with bike lanes, parks, and natural areas.
HOME · FGC 'Volpelleres' Station (Plaça de la Vinya) Leave the FGC 'Volpelleres' station via Plaça de la Vinya (not via the side of the Leonardo da Vinci school). Continue along Antoni Bell Street to the pedestrian crossing, opposite the Volpelleres Municipal Market. On the left, join the cycle lane and cross Can Graells Avenue and then Clota Avenue. Keep straight on, entering the green space of the Guineu Park and following the cycle path parallel to Can Bellet Tunnel Street. Pass the La Mirada and l'Olivera schools and continue through a shady pine grove. On clear days, you can enjoy an open landscape with Montserrat in the background. After passing the pitches and sports area on Dolors Bigas Street, you will reach a roundabout for cycle lanes. Continue along the same lane, passing the Miquel Batllori Volpelleres Library, until you reach the pedestrian crossing on Can Bellet Avenue. Continue straight on and you will find, on your right, the Can Canyameres farmhouse and the urban allotments managed by the Volpelleres Neighbourhood Association. These allotments are part of the municipal Cultiva't programme and provide a space for organic farming, educational activities, biodiversity and community participation. From Can Bellet Avenue, turn right onto a small path that leads into the grounds, allowing you to walk around the farmhouse and past the urban allotments. Continue until you reach a children's play area, located between Pere Calders Street and Can Canyameres Avenue. You will emerge onto Pere Calders Street and follow it south-east towards the city centre, up to the roundabout. Take the second exit at the roundabout, cross Clota Avenue and continue straight on along the Passeig de la Mare de la Font. Continue straight along the street until the end, where you will find the underpass that crosses the railway tracks and leads to Alfons d'Aragó Street. Turn right and continue towards the centre of Sant Cugat, passing in front of the Leonardo da Vinci secondary school, next to the rear entrance of the Volpelleres FGC station. At this point, you can take a small detour to the left to get closer to the Volpelleres Wood and observe the stream. This is a small riparian area within the city, with tall trees and vegetation, which forms a natural corridor for wildlife. Continue downhill along Carrer Alfons d'Aragó, passing the Leonardo da Vinci Institute, until you reach the Escola Pins del Vallès at the junction with Avinguda Can Volpelleres. From here, enter the green space of Can Vernet Park, located beside the Volpelleres stream. Approach the Can Vernet bridge and continue downstream on the left-hand side of the stream. Follow the stream towards the centre, cross Sant Julià Street and continue along Abat Armengol Street, passing the Penya Regalèssia gardens until you reach Fàbrica Street. Go down Calle de la Fàbrica and turn right onto Calle Josefina Mascareñas. Continue until you reach the Monastery Gardens. Walk around the monastery complex on the left, passing behind it and following the inner walkway that runs along the ramparts, until you reach the crossroads and the church door. You can complete the route by passing in front of the Museum and the Monastery's cloister and crossing Plaça de l'Om, before arriving at Plaça d'Octavià, the final point of the route. FINISH · Plaça d'Octavià
